Jea Hur, Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO), Electric Boat (EB)

Jea “Jay” Hur is the Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) for Electric Boat (EB), a Business Unit in the Marine Division of GENERAL DYNAMICS (GD) in Groton, CT.  SBLO is the position identified in the Federal Acquisition Regulation as the person responsible for the Small Business and Subcontracting Program for an entity receiving government contract.  In this capacity, Jea’s responsibility is to manage Electric Boat’s Small Business/Subcontracting and Supplier Diversity Program.  Jea’s tenure at GD EB began as Material Planner, managing inventory of Electrical components and major Electrical assemblies.  Transitioned as the GD EB SBLO in 2010.

Originally from Seoul, Korea, he was raised in Ann Arbor, MI, and graduated from University of Michigan.  Became a transplant New Englander with his start at GD EB.  His prior experiences include, Procurement and Production Manager at a Tier 1 supplier for the Automotive Industry, Purchasing and Inventory Management in Electrical Appliances and Equipment Business, and as a Business Analyst for an International Government Agency.
